A bit about me

Your friend in embroidery and sewing!

I thought I had better introduce myself properly! I'm Rachel Bunney and I absolutely love helping people to fall in love with their machines.

I have worked in the home sewing industry for over 15 years, starting off in 2008 in a beautiful fabric shop and sewing school in the market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire.

From there I spent 10 years working for Brother Sewing Machines Europe as one of two product specialists in the UK. I looked after a whole host of sewing machine shops in the South of the UK where I would help and train dealers, their staff and customers too.

I started Bunney & Thread so that I could continue helping people with their machines, whilst navigating the wibbly wobbly journey of becoming a mum!

In August 2023 I joined the team at Bernina UK where I teach their customer foundation courses in their London head office. It has been a wonderful challenge to learn all about a new brand of machine and I am thoroughly enjoying the blend of Bunney & Thread and Bernina!

I have really moved forward with exploring my embroidery machine. I feel supported if I come across a problem.

Live Sessions

Live Masterclasses

31.png

Machine embroidery masterclasses led by yours truly! Learn something new or perfect existing skills with other Club members, in the comfort of your own home, on your own machine. Can't make the Masterclasses live? No problem. They'll all be recorded so you can access them any time within the Members Area.

Live Q&A Sessions

34.png

Have a machine embroidery issue or a question you've never been able to find the answer to while trawling the internet? Jump on a Q&A Session with us and pick my brains. No question is too silly. No issue is too basic. Everyone started somewhere and we're all here to enjoy machine embroidery.

Stitch & Sip Socials

2.png

Our Stitch & Sip Socials are an evening Zoom session where we can catch up and chat with our fellow members, and like-minded embroiders. We can share our latest creations, get help with something we're stuck on or just have a lovely chat! These aren't recorded so we can just relax and enjoy a tipple of our choice - anything goes.

Testing

The final section covers why it's important to test designs (especially newly digitised ones). We discuss which fabric to test designs on, which threads and stabiliser to use too. Also included, is My Stabiliser Checklist from Module 1 to help you with your stabiliser choices.

How To Hub

20.png

Here you'll find a collection of mini videos where you can find the answers quickly and easily. From how to clean your machine and troubleshooting common problems, to embroidery tips and techniques - have a search in the How To Hub to find your answer. Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know and I'll create something for you.

Member Guided Content

65.png

I want this Club to be yours as much as it is mine. I want to be led by you to make sure I'm creating the content you want to see. So I'll regularly be asking for feedback, suggestions and ideas for new Masterclasses and How To Hub content so I can be sure you're getting the most from the Club.

Masterclass Library

67.png

Every Masterclass is recorded and stored in the Members Area so that you can access them at your leisure. If you can't make a class live, catch up on it another time. Maybe you just want to watch a class again because you enjoyed it so much! Whatever the reason, they are all there waiting for you.

Sew Along Projects

70.png

These are just going to be a little bit of fun, and a way we can all create something together. There is absolutely no pressure to join in or finish anything if you don't have time, or simply don't want to. We'll be sewing along in our own time, grouping together for a Zoom chat about how it's going (or not going!) along the way!

Inspiration

14.png

One thing that has definitely evolved as the Club has grown is the amount of inspiration shared and gained by everyone. It could be finding a new design that you just have to share with everyone, or achieving something - no matter how big or small it may seem to you - it's all inspiring and we all love to be inspired by each other!

Save Our Sewjo

5.png

Save Our Sewjo is a gentle challenge where we share what we'd like to make or achieve within the next three months and we keep each other accountable and share how we're doing. It doesn't have to be huge, or incredibly challenging - it could be starting a large project you've been putting off, or finishing something you started ages ago, or simply getting your sewing space more organised.

Testing

The final section covers why it's important to test designs (especially newly digitised ones). We discuss which fabric to test designs on, which threads and stabiliser to use too. Also included, is My Stabiliser Checklist from Module 1 to help you with your stabiliser choices.

Private Facebook Group

As a Bunney & Thread Embroidery Club Member, you'll have access to the private Facebook Group where a lot of the discussions will be held. Use it as much as you like to post questions, ask for recommendations, and share your embroidery makes with us all too! Feel free to also share your embroidery fails too - we've all been there!!

Support

56.png

The whole idea behind The Bunney & Thread Embroidery Club is to give support and to create a friendly and welcoming community of like minded people. As a member, you have access to a whole host of support. Not only can you pick my brains on a regular basis, but you have the support of the whole group behind you too.

Private WhatsApp Group

3.png

This is a perfect example of how The Embroidery Club has grown and adapted. I asked for feedback from Members and one suggestion was to start a private WhatsApp group, which we did in January 2024. It has been a huge success, bringing Club Members closer together and is a space where you can easily and quickly ask me questions, send pictures, share ideas etc. It's optional to join, I know it won't be for everyone but give it a try!
