Sewing Machine Tuition

I've put together some of the most popular areas for sewing machine tuition to give you an idea of what we can cover during your 1:1 session. We're not limited to this list so if there is anything specific you need to cover, just let me know.

Absolute Beginner Skills

For those who are starting their sewing journey from scratch or would like a refresher. We'll go through threading the machine, bobbin winding, changing needles, machine care, getting started.

Feet & Accessories

Sewing machines usually come with a few feet & accessories included which are designed to make certain sewing jobs a bit easier. Many of us don't use these accessories or even know what they're for. I'll take you through all of these so you can feel confident using them in the future.

As with the feet and accessories, most sewing machines have a wide selection of stitches which are designed for specific jobs. Most people will have a go with these stitches but don't really know what their actual job is. I will explain and demonstrate these stitches so you know your machine better.

Basic Maintenance

All machines require some basic maintenance and a bit of TLC. I will run through the kind of maintenance you can do yourself and advise on servicing and where to go.

We will go through some common sticking points that everyone comes across at some point during their sewing journey. Things like tension, needles breaking, threading issues, fabric / needle combinations, etc. Also we can cover any issues you have been having with your own sewing, just let me know.
